Simon and Steven say 'Thank You!'

11.30.42pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 26th Jun 2004

Simon Hughes and local Lib Dem London Assembly Candidate Steven Gauge are saying thank you to the people of Croydon for their support at the recent elections. The Liberal Democrats were the only major party to improve their share of the vote in the elections across London. Voters across London rejected both Labour and Conservatives as their share of their vote fell.

Lib Dem Mayoral Candidate Simon Hughes said: "I would like to thank the people of Croydon for their support during my campaign. It is clear that voters across London have rejected both the Conservatives and Labour. Of the major parties only the Liberal Democrats have increased their share of the vote across London."
