Sarah Ludford MEP

Sarah Ludford MEP

Sarah Ludford is the Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for London, first elected in 1999. Interested in London's environment, transport and regeneration, Sarah is currently organising a petition to the European Parliament against the discharge of raw sewage into the Thames. She is also campaigning to protect residents against the noise and pollution from Heathrow's proposed third runway.

Baroness Sarah Ludford is also a life peer in the House of Lords, appointed in 1997.

Sarah was an elected borough councillor in London for most of the 90s, has a degree in international histroy and has an MA in European Studies. She is also a qualified barrister.

Recently elected by the people of London, your 3 Lonodn Assembly Members (AMs) are : Dee Doocey, Caroline Pidgeon and Mike Tuffrey.

The keep a careful eye on Mayor Boris's already shakey adminsitration by examinging his activities, scrutinising his policies and questioning him. They also scrutinise his budget and, with other members of the GLA, may amend it, with a two-thirds majority decision.

Simon Hargrave

Campaigner Simon Hargrave

Simon Hargrave is Chair of the Croydon Liberal Democrats and campaigner in Croydon. A computer manager and part-time tutor for the Sutton College of Learning for Adults, he lives in Purley with his wife and child. He has gained a a degree with the Open University and is well on the way to gaining an MA in History.

Simon has chaired two Residents' Associations. With one, he lead a successful campaign to enforce leaseholder's legal right to buy the collective freehold from an obstructive landlord.

A keen environmentalist, Simon is a member of the London Wildlife Trust, Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth. He enjoys swimming, walking and running, which is as well as he doesn't run a car. He is a user and supporter of public transport.

Michael Bishopp

Campaigner Michael Bishopp

Michael has lived in Croydon for 30 years.

In that time he has been an active member of a variety of reseidents associations.

He has also been an active member of the Croydon Police Consultative Committee and the local transport committees.
